Da-Hae West

A Korean cookery teacher, consultant and author of K-Food. Born in Busan, South Korea, Da-Hae moved to England when she was three. Watching her mother in the kitchen inspired a love of Korean food and in 2012, she opened Busan BBQ with her husband – a street food truck selling modern Korean food at pop up restaurants and markets across London. In 2015, Octopus Publishing published her first cookbook ‘K-Food’ (later republished in paperback as ‘Eat Korean') – a mixture of the traditional dishes she grew up with along with ways to use Korean ingredients in a more modern way.

Da-Hae is an authority on Korean food, having worked on TV shows Gizzi Erskine’s Seoul Food and John Torode’s Korean Food Tour as well as appearing on the BBC’s One Show and The Travel Channel’s Footie Shorts. She works closely with the Korean Embassy and Korean Cultural Centre, hosts cookery classes and has several recipes featured in publications including BBC Good Food, Ocado Magazine and Olive Magazine.

You will be learning in a beautifully designed kitchen which provides a warm welcoming environment that can accommodate everything from group cookery classes to intimate chef’s tables, with the versatility to suit everyone.

Our partners have been chosen with great care, as all our equipment must stand up to the day-to-day rigours of our cookery school – much like a professional kitchen, that you can enjoy using whilst creating your own amazing dishes in class to give you the best possible experience when cooking with us.

Our classes and outstanding range of teachers will help you hone your gastronomic skills, even if you are a complete novice or a dab hand in the kitchen. We love highlighting new upcoming food trends and championing the rising stars within the culinary world.
