Age Verification for Knife Purchases 

At Divertimenti, we prioritise customer safety and strict compliance with UK law. Under current regulations, all knives, including cutlery knives, are classified as 18+ Age-Restricted Items. To uphold responsible retailing, we use AgeChecked, a secure and privacy-focused age verification service, for all knife purchases.

How Does It Work?

We use AgeChecked.com’s specialised software to verify your age automatically during checkout:

Placing an Order – Simply add your items to your basket and proceed to checkout as usual.

Age Verification – AgeChecked will perform the necessary checks in the background. If your age is verified successfully, your order will be processed without delay.

If Further Verification is Needed – If AgeChecked is unable to verify your details, you will be required to confirm your age using an official document.

If an automatic check cannot be completed, our Customer Care Team will contact you via email with a manual AgeChecked link, allowing you to verify your age securely. Once completed, your order will be released for dispatch.

Your Privacy & Data Security

We understand the importance of data security and privacy. AgeChecked ensures that your identity remains anonymous and follows strict data protection standards, including the British Standard PAS:1296.

Minimal Data Collection – AgeChecked collects only the necessary information to confirm your age, such as your name, date of birth, or address.

No Data Retention – Once verification is complete, all personally identifiable information is permanently removed from the system, apart from anonymised data used only for compliance purposes.

No Data Sharing – Your personal details are never shared with Divertimenti or any third parties. The only information we receive is whether the age check was successful.

Will This Affect My Delivery?

Your order will not be dispatched until the age verification process is complete.

Our courier, Parcelforce Worldwide, follows a ‘Challenge 25’ policy, meaning that if the recipient appears under 25, they will be asked to provide valid photo ID (passport or driving licence) before accepting the delivery. Additionally, all age-restricted items are clearly identified at the time of dispatch to ensure compliance.
